crazy chicken buses....

Well, we´re not at the ocean anymore, which is kind of sad since the day after we left the rain decided to stop. We were making our way to Lago de Yajoa, and on our way back to San Salvador. We took 2 chicken buses, and we going to transfer to our 3rd, but were too late to catch it. The 2nd chicken bus was by far the most entertaining. First of all, he was driving WAY too fast in the pouring rain, the bus swirved a few times and I was totally freaked out. There was some old drunk guy on the bus that kept getting yelled at by the bus attendant and driver and then a lady got mad at the bus driver and started poking him and hitting him with her umbrella. Highly entertaining.
We ended up staying in a town about 45 minutes from San Pedro Sula, we got a nice clean hotel room with tv, air con, hot water and a really comfy bed. We hit up Pizza Hut for supper and headed to bed hoping to either catch the 7:30 or 9:30 bus to the Lake. I woke up around 6, and we decided we would take the 9:30 bus. I walked to good old Dunkin' Donuts for a coffee and went back to the room, then we went to the bus station, and ended up buying a ticket for noon, and decided to walk around the town for a while. It turned out our alarm clock changed to Daylight savings time, but the country didn´t so we had extra time to kill in town. It was a Sunday, but all the stores were open and they had a market in the street, it was nice just to walk around.
Anyways, we took a fancy bus to the next town (where an old man was yelling at the driver cause he hated the music and wanted to listen to some ranchero!), but the driver forgot to tell us where our stop was, but thankfully Chris saw the sign and we were able to get off and walk to the nearest bus station. Eventually we found where we were going. We´re staying at a place called D&D Microbrewery, some (slightly arrogant) American guy owns the guesthouse and you guessed it has a microbrewery where he makes beer, and different kinds of sodas. We woke up this morning and had breakfast and then the owner called Chris over and told him he had heard from someone that we hadn´t paid one of our hotel bills at the Jungle Lodge we had stayed in a few nights ago. What had happened is we left early, tallied up our bill and left the money on the clipboard. Anyways, someone must have taken it, and word travels fast around here. This D&D guy tryed scaring us and saying that the other owner has put a warrent out for our arrest at the border. Well, he did certainly scare us. So instead of going to the hot springs this morning, Chris called the Canadian embassy and then the owner of Jungle river and got things straightened out. We´re not going to jail after all!!! We were both quite freaked out though.
This afternoon we walked to a waterfall and now we´re bored. Maybe tomorrow we will either take a tour on the lake or head out of here and make our way closer to the border.
