well finally got to costa rica and instead of the easy way out and paying 20.00 for taxi into town, i took a local bus then asked a local where ç coca cola bus terminal was and actually got of in downtown San Jose and was able to walk to find bus terminal
first bus place told me all busses were gone for the day so i aimlessly walked around 15 mins then found another place and it had bus leaving in 40 mins, so i rode 4 1/2 hrs to town of liberia
I sat next to nice local man that helped teach me more spanish if i bettered his english. We chatted almost whole ride. He helped me find a hotel...............man i ain't fussy but it was a shit hole with dirty sheets and i was too tired after about 36 hrs of straight travel to look for better.
I layed my blanket down over the sheets and slept in my clothes.
today sucked........woke up and walked to bus station then was able to finaly find correct bus to take to the border..............i am surprised at lack of people speaking english here. I rode to border then stood in looooooooooooong line up in the sun. man is it hot here. yikes. Finaly got passport stamped then walked 1 km to nicaragau border post. Stood in wrong line for 20 mins as i forgot to hand in paper.......so had to go to other line then back to original line and each line was 20-25 mins waiting in the sun, meanwhile constantly geting hounded to exchange money or take taxi or buy bus ticket or give remaining Costa Rica money to various people that automaticaly saw i was a white tourist and no doubt an idiot that just gives out money to anyone that asks...................yes a long hot day
I boarded bus then got off on highway at junction to San Juan del Sur where i am now for next 2 days then off to Isle do Omepete. Anyways while waiting for conecting bus a local car with 1 old man and 4 women stoped to let 1 woman out and offered me a ride...........we were packed like sardines as the woman were quite plump but was such a nice gesture i couldnçt say no....................plus they were waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too old to rob me
at a nice beach town now, hot like a bugger and just had the hugest plate of grissly meat with heaps of rice n beans n pickled cabbage. Now off for hapy hour beers
email in a few days

I give you a lot of credit for having patience like you do. I hate line ups and would have lost my mind! But heh, your sweating your butt off down there and were freezing our asses off in wonderful Manitoba. :)
