I hate trains!

Well, this will be a quick one, as nothing overly exciting has happened in the last few days!

Last night we actually left the beach we were at and started to head closer to Mumbai. We caught a train at 7:30 in the evening, and arrived in Mangalore at 11:00 this morning. It wasn't bad actually as we were able to sleep. I slept the entire night, right til 7 am.
Then the fun began. We were trying to get to Gokarna, which is just under Goa. One step closer to Mumbai. We decided to take the bus to Gokarna, so we got a rickshaw to the bus station, where they told us that the buses were striking and the roads were closed. We had a bite to eat in a nice local filthy restaurant and then back to the train station. We waited in line for 20 minutes to reserve our ticket and they told us to go to a different line up, where they gave us the shittiest tickets ever. ( we didn't have a choice really, since it was so last minute)
We crammed on the train like sardines (6 people to a 4 seater bench, and do i mean bench. hard as a rock.-not fun.and many people standing.) anyways we got to Gokarna, and got a cab with another couple to the beach, where the driver dropped us off in the middle or freakin' nowhere and turned off the cab. Well, let me tell you, at this point, I thought we were gonners! It turns out there was just a big rocky hill that he couldn't drive down, so we had to walk down with flashlights. SO that brings us to the beach at Gokarna. We've made our way to a small beach, not many people, andas of yet, I haven't located the shower at our hotel. Fun times. I haven't showered in forever it feels like, and am still wearing my yesterday clothes. Oh the life of a backpacker!
well, im heading to bed. Our hotel is right on the ocean we ate supper here tonight and had the odd splash of ocean water on us! Isn't life wonderful! (I guess that might have to be my shower) haha, well, i'm off to bed, its been an incredibly long day, and the man is booting me out of here. its closing time! Talk to you soon....
