sure is hot here 36 deg cel our hotel sign says it is...........nice waves on the ocean

crazy to think we sit in rest's looking at saudi arabia.........never thought i'd ever be doing that................we take bus to cairo tomorrow to fly to kenya yet it is totally closer to go to isreal/saud arb/syria/jordan . holy crappers we r totally in middle east area good thing the US isn't bombing or starting wars in this area or might be probs for us as everyone always asks if we r American simply cuz we r white with no European accent..............guess i would to any Americans n some Aussies n Europeans actually can tell we r Canadian after talking to us for a minute or two...................but locals always just us ask from the US

hmmmmmmmm ole hot laura is looking quite beautiful as usual n many men still check her out daily(thought i was the only one supposed to do that n 'sneak a peak') oh well i can't blame 'em she is pretty hot

i am glad she has done lots of snorkeling as red sea is know for some of the best in the world...............sadly today is major waves n wind so snorkeling not possible all tourists r just siting in cafes and walking round town more than normal

we've had some awesome meals last few days me mainly concentrating on seafood mostly....yesterday for breakfast i had a seafood platter 1/2 a fish 6-8 each of shrimp n calamari and fried in butter n garlic was sooo good and not greasy like other night no worries of accident in my shorts from this one.........what great way to start the day..................................then laura snorkeled and i sat in shade talking to other hotel guests in the shade having a beer and watching every 5 minutes or so that laura isn't drowning or having problems

more rest's than tourists here so last few nights as u walk by them they try to lure u in so we ask' what kinds of deals do u have if we eat at your rest?' 2 nights ago got free fruit juice/dessert/sheesha/pot of tea/ plus 30% of the meal......was pretty sweet if u r naive n stupid and just walk in ............u pay full price and get nothing.....so for those thinking i am being frugal.............would u be taken advantage of, just walking in paying full price and not trying to bargain.........or would u try and outsmart those trying to cheat you...........i think some of you prob would be scared to try and bargain.....................Dave H. u wouldn't that is why we traveled in central America so well.......wish u were hear battling the crafty Egyptians with me...............we need more Israelis here......................there are always bargaining keeping prices down

i don't mind paying a bit more.........i am tourist that is how it is but when u r blatantly being ripped off....................i think one would be stupid to allow it to happen to themselves w/o trying to stand up for yourself...........so no i/we r not being cheap.................u'd have to be hear to see what it is like to understand it is not about the money it is about not letting yourself be screwed over(we still are ....but we try to minimize it)

bargaining is way it is here.............unless you like being taken advantage of as these locals love to try n suck every last dollar from you they can......................they r nice but everything revolves around money here everything one thing i do NOT like about the culture

hassle is less here but bottom line is they are all trying to do what they can to get money out of u someway or the other


we have made friends with 1 rest owner he invited us for free pancake last night and we chatted for 45 mins ...................he is genuine and nice as we've eaten there 3 times he tells of his fights with his wife and personal things!!!!!!!!!!

we moved to this nice lil hotel with ocean views and domed ceiling looking like mosque or other Muslim type building is nice and laura ;literally walks out our door and across the sidewalk 30 feet and she is in water and 60 feet out is coral reefs.................................is really nice place n good climate summer is over 50 deg cel though i'd melt here

last night we went out for supper with people from our hotel.................a nice Aussie newlywed couple in late 40's and this drunk American guy turned out to be nightmare meal awkward conversations and weird, off the wall comments by the American guy..............he was weirdo a bit like when he said yeah our economy is bad but our army could still bomb the shit out of any country in the world....................

oh we ran into some friends from town we where at 5 days ago in this rest........................they had brought 2 bottles of wine with them into this rest ordered food but when they left the owner made them take there empty 2 wine bottles away and put in garbage b/c he said he didn't even want to touch the empty alcohol bottles...............they said at first when they got there he gave them plastic cups..........as he didn't want alcohol to touch the insides of his glasses.........................now is that friggen retarded or what...........................yet he'd overcharge you and rip u off as much as he could.................but couldn't touch an empty wine bottle..................i think muslum countries are quite crazy........................the things we see ever day make us shake our heads

we we have big decision how/when to go to cairo tonight and get no sleep and have all day in cairo n no where to go or put bags..........................but get there early.....................or leave tomorrow morning spend all day in hot bus getting there 2 1/2 hours before our flight but if bus breaks down/flat tire/ or prob at many of the passport police checkpoints........................we miss our flight????????????????what to do

guy at hotel said to us to go in the morning tomorrow we should make it but if there is prob and we miss flight no problem that is how it was meant to be

i beg to differ would be big problem no logic in that way of thinking...............i do have about 3 more meals i must eat before leaving here english style fish n chips the hugest fattest hamburger i've ever seen(if i keep eating like this i may become the hugest fattest tourist u've ever seen !) and another mixed seafood platter

i think the food in kenya on our safari will suck 8 days on the road in hot sun prob be lots of rice n beans but we'll see lotsa cool animals i am sure.........be like watching a nature show but in real life

we both sure miss abby but r glad to be enjoying the hot weather and treating ourselves as we slowly get old together

oh i am very excited i booked my flight to Ethiopian from kenya was over 530.00 before we left and got it for 152.00 both ways.......................i am so happy as honestly i was scared to look thinking it may have gone up and i was going to do a 4 day overland journey from Nairobi - Addis Ababa(which would an amazing adventure through no mans land' but possibly dangerous) so now i have no worries

plus 152.00 is so cheap if i decide to still do this journey i could simply not use it n not loose any sleep over it being that cheap...so life is very good and my ole lady is very beautiful so life is even better
